If you could live forever, would you and why?
by Kenneson inthis questions was asked to miss alabama in the 1994 miss u.s.a. contest.
her response was: "i would not live forever, because we should not live forever, because if we were supposed to live forever, then we would live forever, but we cannot live forever, which is why i would not live forever.".
my view.

When do you think it is the right age for body contact?
by morty inin hockey that is.....
this is my concern as a mother in the sport...i have 2 boys that play hockey...one is a competive 12 year old player and the other, well, he know longer plays because of a hockey accident, that almost cost him his life a year ago..he is 15 years of age, but at the time of the accident, he was 13...to make a long story short, he was hit from behind and the other player broke 3 of his ribs and rupchurd his spleen....he was in the hospital for 2 very long weeks and transfered from one hospital to another via air lift....he is now almost back to a full recovery but is not aloud to play because of the body contact in the sport.
( doctor will not give him the ok to return yet and i dont feel right about it either)..when he started hockey, he was 9 years old...they had no body contact till he became a "a" player, which happened the following year...now, he was experencied in body checking by the time he played with the other kids.

There have been efforts in our area to get the age lowered for contact sports. Good luck but I doubt you'll do any better than the well funded efforts in California. People love their sports and we all know there are risks. It's an assumed risk when you play any sport that you can get hurt or even killed. Many more children are killed on bicycles each year than while playing hockey or football. Your oposers will point that out and ask you if you want to get rid of the much more dangerous bicycle where you don't sign an assumed risk contract before you ride.

WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE PEOPLE!
OK you get to play with Simon now but stay away from the other children please.
Kids hear about no Santa before school from others kids but they discount it. They just think the older kid is being mean or something. Reason doesn't enter their minds all that often at that age. But hearing it from a teacher is another story. Teachers make them believe everything at that age.

Opinions Please....Engagement Timing
by Stacy Smith ini've been seeing a very nice guy for two months now, every day, almost every minute.
as you know it can become very obvious when a guy is about to pop the question.. i have been very honest with him about when i'd be willing to marry, which is to say not until i graduate from college which is still a 1 1/2 years away, of course i hear things like "well a couple can wait but be commited right"?.
anyway i've bounced this off of my friends and have several opinions already but i thought i'd ask it here.. how long would you date someone before you considered accepting an engagement ring?

Thank you eyebrow. I appreciate hearing about your experiences.
There is some wisdom to marrying while still going to school since he'll be working by then anyway. I'm just afraid to mess things up. My grades are great and I hate to mess with that. Besides a longer engagement would help me discover reasons why I shouldn't marry.
My parents married 8 months after they met. But they spent all their time together. It seems to have worked out for them, 24 years later.
I'm almost sure it's going to happen on Maui. Now his parents are going over for a few days the same time as we are. Hmmmm, getting a bit suspicious here.
Does this add pressure to accept. You might think yes but it really doesn't. I'm leaning towards saying yes but if I get even a weird feeling I'll turn him down.
Oh and eyebrow thank you for the offer of watching your children, no really, it's a wonderful offer but, ummmm, no thank you
Maybe a proposal on little beach would be perfect? We'd already be neekid!!!!!

Enjoy yourself but don't drag me into it.

Well it's easy to say home school your child if you don't approve of whatever the school or teacher dishes out. Here in California there is a huge tax burdon that support schools. Maybe people who want to be homeowners have to work two jobs to support the public schools already.
I don't think it was her place to say anything about it other than to talk to their parents.
